Filbert brushes have bristles that are flat but rounded – like a cat’s tongue. They are also called an oval flat brush, a cat’s tongue or chisel brush. Like a flat brush, a filbert allows you to easily create lines of varying thickness by the angle and pressure you use. The filbert is a multifunctional brush that is very useful for face painting. It’s uses include: blending and shading, one-stroke designs – especially one-stroke dolphins, and using the curved edge to imprint scales and feathers.
