FUN FACT: Spinosaurus was the biggest of all the carnivorous dinosaurs – yes, bigger than T.rex! Its name means “spine lizard” – for the 2m long spines on its back. These spines were probably connected by brightly coloured skin for display. Spinosaurus was the first dinosaur that was able to swim, and likely spent most of its life in the water. It had a long, slender, crocodile-like snout with conical teeth perfect for catching fish.
