These sponges have been specially designed for face painting by Face Paint World to make face painting easier.
- The perfect size to pick up all the colours in a 50g split-cake.
- The perfect shape for full-face butterfly wings and cat face painting.
Ever since I started face painting in 2009, I have mainly used almond-shaped sponges that I cut for myself – as they have never before been available to buy anywhere. This is the only shape face painting sponge that I would use or heartily recommend for large butterflies or cat face painting – two essential face painting designs. Most of the other sponges on the market aren’t even long enough to pick up all the colours in the standard 50g split-cakes, nor long enough for butterfly wings or cat’s features on any but the tiniest of faces.
Finally I have had them custom-made and am delighted to finally be able to offer a sponge shape (and size) that I can truly recommend for your most common face painting designs. Unlike petal or “wing” shaped sponges, these will give you with a nice pointed tip to your butterfly wing, while the point at other end gets into the corner above the eye. You can then rotate/angle it down with a dabbing motion to fill in the outer edge of the wing.
PRODUCT FEATURES:
- 6cm long – same as all the 50g split-cakes to pick up all the colours
- Medium density sponge – soft on the skin, firm enough to hold their shape
- This pack contains two sponges
- Pointy tip is perfect for creating a nice pointy wing tip on a butterfly face painting and getting into corners above the eye
HOW TO APPLY:
Lightly wet one flat side of the sponge with water using an atomiser. Rub the damp sponge side to side across a large split-cake. Check the sponge surface is covered in face paint; reapply if there are gaps, pressing more on that area. Apply paint onto the skin with a dabbing motion. You can use the shape as is, or squeeze at the sides to customise it as required.
CARING FOR YOUR SPONGES:
These sponges are durable and washable for endless re-use. As with all face painting sponges I recommend hand-washing in cold to luke-warm water with soap and rinsing well. Don’t wash in hot water or you will “set” the paint, but you can sterilize them by immersing in just-boiled water. After water has cooled, remove them and squeeze out the water. Hang them in the sun to dry in a Mesh Sponge Bag.
