This professional quality, washable practice head is the ideal learning tool to perfect face painting basics, practice specific techniques, test new makeup products and create your own unique designs. Your face painting quality and speed can be markedly improved by practicing this way, ie. by face painting at the correct angle and getting used to the contours of the face.

Water-based face paint can be washed off with soap and water, and stubborn marks can be removed with eucalyptus oil and a magic eraser sponge.

Please note: the surface is designed to be somewhat absorbent so that it’s more like painting on skin and less like plastic. This means that they can stain. Some colours stain more than others too – especially purple and teal. I recommend washing the paint off as soon as possible.

I have heard of people treating practice heads with hairspray before use to apply a coating to make the paint easier to clean off. I don’t know how well this works, nor how it effects the painting surface.

Clean As New After Painting
I was reluctant to purchase with mix of negative reviews regarding staining. With additional reading and tips garnered from different reviewers I made the leap. Here’s the tips I used successfully: Sprayed the mannequin I’ll call ‘Mo’ twice with hairspray, allowing to dry between applications. Proceeded with water-based high quality face paint. Admired my work long enough to let it set well enough. Sprayed Mo down with 91% rubbing alcohol that I’ve placed in a small spray bottle from a Walmart. Wiped the paint off easily with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Rinsed the Eraser and wiped any smears left by moving the paint around the Mo’s face. Took no longer than washing a child’s face after the a painting, maybe less time because he was so compliant!

Great. Very happy with this. Perfect for me to practice face painting on. I read the reviews so sprayed a couple of layers of hair spray on it first. I found spraying ace fabric stain remover on it when cleaning got it all off perfectly ready to use again. Very pleased.

Mannequin is a SUCCESS!
I purchased the mannequin to practice symmetrical eyebrows for alopecia and recovering breast cancer women that have lost eyebrows from chemo. This is a great mannequin to practice on.
1) Spray your mannequin with Aquanet heavy duty hairspray. Spray it down 3 to 4 times. Allow the spray to fully dry into or onto the mannequin product.
2) After you are finished with your makeup practice you should clean it right away.
3) To clean get makeup cotton wipes and pour 91% rubbing alcohol and you should start rubbing off the make up. Rub hard.
4) You may also use Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Use the eraser and rub off any deep smears that you can see faintly.
