What is Practice Skin? These are small sheets of synthetic skin-like material, used by face painters and tattoo apprentices, for practicing designs and line-work. They have been carefully formulated to feel and react like real skin. They are durable, washable, re-useable and you can use both sides of the sheet. It’s also pliable so you can either rest it on a flat surface, or you can wrap the practice skin around an arm or leg to practice painting around natural curves.
Perfect alternative to painting all over your own arms & legs!
- Size: 20 x 30 cm
Please note: the surface is designed to be somewhat absorbent so that it’s more like painting on skin and less like plastic. This means that they can stain. Some colours stain more than others too – especially purple and teal. I recommend washing the paint off as soon as possible. I have heard of people treating practice heads with hairspray before use to apply a coating to make the paint easier to clean off. I don’t know how well this works, nor how it effects the painting surface.
