Global’s Springback Rake Brush is for creating multiple lines in an instant – just what you need for painting stripes, fur, hair, feathers, Santa’s beard, mummy bandages, grass, wood grain and other cross-hatching and of course cat’s whiskers. It’s like having a six tiny brushes in a row so you can create many parallel lines at once. Such a time saver!

The Springback series of brushes from Global Colours has been designed by award-winning body artist Julie Tattam, for face and body painters. The premium white taklon bristles have that all-important firm ‘spring-back’ functionality and optimum bristle length to give you maximum control over your brushstrokes.

The durable acrylic handles in a pretty teal colour have tapered ends useful for moving hairs off your “canvas”, easier insertion into Brush Wallets and other holders, and even for scooping paints. The densely packed nickel plated ferrules leave no space for water and paint to get trapped making them easy to clean, and quick and hygienic to dry.

About Rake & Fan Brushes

Rake Brushes and Fan Brushes are good for:

  • parallel lines for cat’s whiskers, stripes, fabric fringe, basket-weave, cross-hatching and other striations
  • feathery strokes that can be used to create fur, hair, feathers, grass, woodgrain, gauze bandage, fabric texture
  • a streaky texture effect at the edges of butterfly wings

Tips For Use:

  • Do not overload with paint
  • Some effects are achieved by using a dry rake brush across damp paint.
  • Use light pressure to achieve delicate texture
  • Vary how long you stay up on the tip of your chisel edge and rotate which side of the brush you put pressure on, to create turned effects
  • Sweep the tip of the brush through a different colour to add colour variations
