Glitter Tattoos are a quick and easy alternative or addition to face painting. They are a great option for school fetes as they can be applied by anyone. They last for days and are perfect for pool parties as they don’t wash off in the water.

Glitter Tattoos require: the stencils, glitter or mica and Pros-aide (a special cosmetic adhesive).

You can use any cosmetic glitter but the opaque glitters look best. The semi-sheer cosmetic glitters can be lovely for glitter tattoos if you combine them with opaque glitters. Mixing is one option, but also using the sheer glitter on parts of the stencil and merging it into an outer border of opaque glitter in a similar colour can look gorgeous and effective.
Puffer bottles of glitter can be used but I’d recommend you take the top off and apply with a brush or swab, not “puff” it on which would waste a lot of glitter and not allow you to define areas of different colours. Jars of glitter are more suitable for glitter tattoos, so I haven’t included the puffer bottles here.

Mica powder can be used instead of cosmetic glitter to create a more sophisticated look appealing to teens and adults. Black mica will even create the look of a real tattoo which boys especially, will love!

Each Glitter Tattoo Stencil consists of 3 layers: adhesive vinyl stencil on backing paper with an adhesive application layer on top. They can be reused a few, or even several times if you are careful. Simple, bold designs are easier to reuse.
